OUR ITINERARY WAS THE EPITOME OF FESTIVE: MINCE PIES, MULLED WINE, SECRET SANTA AND A SPRINKLING OF BRIDGET JONES

One thing I always really look forward to every festive season is the social aspect of it all. A time to try and squeeze in social events, seeing family, unwinding with loved ones and just generally spending time with those you really enjoy being with. Having grown up not too far from Lulworth I was super excited to be heading there in December with The Blogger Programme and the beautiful friends I’ve made through blogging! Our itinerary was a festive one, filled with mince pies, mulled wine, wintery walks and secret Santa (plus a sprinkling of Bridget Jones for good measure 😉 )

I vlogged the trip as usual, which I always think is such a lovely way to look back on a trip – make sure you keep an eye out on my channel to see what we got up to! Lulworth Cove (and the Jurassic Coast in general) is such an incredible part of England and I can’t reccomend putting it on your bucket list enough! Here’s what we got up to on our little luxury, festive retreat to Lulworth!

THE WAY TO MY HEART IS DEFINITELY A FESTIVE FILM EVENING WITH SNACKS AND A BIT OF BUBBLY!

Our arrival in the evening was spent cosying it up in our rooms, getting settled in, having a peek at the goodies that awaited us and promptly heading downstairs to cheers to the Christmas period with a sip of Cava! I will never take for granted the incredible kindness of brands when it comes to blogging and loved discovering the presents in our room! A Happiness Planner (lusted over these for months and such a fab way to inject some positivity into your day!) the most sassy duvet from Milk & Cookys (mine said ‘good vibes only’ – The BEST THING to wake up to!) some delicious snacks and luxe hair amazingness from Oway!  – Ps, the hair oil is out of this world! The most beautiful packaging I’ve ever seen too, which is alwasy appreciated when it comes to Instagram! The evening was spent by the fire, mince pie in hand and pizza overload, mulled wine, popcorn and Bridget Jones followed by Secret Santa – so pretty much the Christmassy, evening dream! The house we stayed in was so beautifully dressed up for Christmas too – straight out of Home alone 😉

CREAM TEAS, HOT COFFEE AND DISCOVERING THE HISTORY AND SCANDALS BEHIND THE CASTLE LEFT ME IN MY TOTAL ELEMENT!

I adore entertaining and cooking around Christmas, so this escape definitely gave me some fab ideas, I’d love to host my own little seasonal cosy, get together! I adore all things festive food (Hello Cheese overload!) and after a beautiful breakfast of pastries and fruit, we headed out for a crisp, morning walk in the sunshine along the Coast. We had a guided walk around Lulworth Cove with the rangers (and I totally nerded out about the Geography and it was BLOODY WONDERFUL) Truthfully I think I would have done my Geography teacher proud haha! I’m always astounded by how blue and clear the water is, whenever I post Lulworth on my Instagram you guys are convinced I’m abroad!

I cannot thank the incredible staff at Lulworth Castle enough for looking after us so well, keeping us warm with delicious coffee (and insane cake!) and being extremely accommodating for my love of history (I ended up discovering underneath the Chapel and was the last one there, bombarding the guides with questions haha!) Not only is it beautiful (totally, undeniably instagrammable) and rich of interesting culture and history but just somewhere I’m really glad I visited. I think taking time out from normal life to discover somewhere new really enriches yourself and soul!

MY IDEA OF HEAVEN IS COOKING UP A STORM, BAKING, PLAYING BOARDGAMES AND WATCHING MOVIES ALL NIGHT LONG

If you’ve read my post about our beautiful trip to The Cotswolds in June you’ll know we stayed in the most beautiful, Manor house which was run by Kate & Toms, so this time we stayed in another one of their amaze homes that are dotted around the UK. The Lindens is tucked away in the quietest corner of the countryside a 5 minute drive from Lulworth Cove. It looked particularly beautiful in the morning with all of the frost sat on the lawn and the sun slowly making it glisten, but the pool would also be incredible in the summer! It’s definitely made me consider having a big, family staycation one year! My idea of heaven is cooking up a storm, playing boardgames, baking and watching movies all night! Lounging around in comfortable, cosy and snuggly, winter clothes was bliss! (You can shop all the pieces I’m wearing below – ‘cos you know, you deserve it! 😉 ) It’s also always the best to get to stay in an insanely comfortable bed. Like I didn’t even know beds like this existed! I’d love to know if you guys have ever been to Dorset – such a beautiful part of the world and was lovely and quiet at this time of year too – perfect for getting those all important ‘gram photos 😉
