3 WAYS TO BOOST YOUR MOOD IN THE WINTER

3 WAYS TO BOOST YOUR MOOD IN THE WINTER

FESTIVE EXCITMENT ASIDE, I’M STILL REALLY PRONE TO THE ODD SPELL OF WINTER BLUES

As much as I used to force myself to be as highly anticipated as my peer for summer, the truth is, I’ve come to accept the fact that I just enjoy winter so much more! As soon as September hits I’m overwhelmed with a sense of excitement for the months ahead – Halloween (I filmed my first ever tutorial for my channel this year too!) Bonfire night, Christmas and New Year. All things wintery and cliche make me super happy. This was massively heightened by our gloriously autumnal Trip to Soho Farmhouse with Get More Vitamins!

Festive excitement aside, I still am really prone to the odd bout of winter blues, low motivation, mood and productivity as the darker nights and colder temps draw in. I learnt so much whilst away all about the importance that minerals and vitamins play a part in boosting our immune system and improving our general wellbeing and mood! With this new found knowledge under my belt I decided to compile a little list of things that perk me up when a bout of SAD hits – here’s hoping this gives you guys a little help too!

PINTEREST REMINDS ME OF ALL OF THE REASONS I LOVE WINTER

For me, I love the cosiness and little rituals that come with winter. I love putting on my fave, fluffy slippers and PJs, reserved for the colder climates, which I look forward to getting out every year. I love lighting candles, having hot baths, baking and feeling festive. I also love winter fashion, layering my fave chunky knits, a cute bobble hat and shiny new boots. Spending time with loved ones, going out for a warm, hot chocolate and making your little space happy and warm and welcoming. At times where I feel I lack this feeling I resort to my beloved Pinterest to reignite my love for all things wintery and cosy. I have folders for events, such a Christmas, Halloween and dinner parties, as well as wintery fashion inspiration, my fave shoes and pictures of the world and cosy home interiors that make me want to go out and get motivated to enjoy winter. Create yourself a calming, cosy space and take time to enjoy it; it will soothe and relax your mind. (Fast track tip: Grab yourself a cliche wintery scented candle = instant happiness.)

GET OUTSIDE AND GET YOUR HEART PUMPING!

A pretty cliche and standard peace of advice but, to be honest, exercise pretty much does solve a lot of problems. I’m not talking gruelling 2 hours gym sessions 6 times a week – it could be a half an hour walk, morning yoga sesh from a Youtube routine, a bike ride or dancing around the kitchen for 20 minutes. When I’m feeling low and unmotivated, the first thing I will do is force myself to move (easier said than done sometimes, of course 😉 ) A run first thing in the morning makes me feel so much better within myself and for the day ahead, so if I can manage this – my whole day is generally a lot more improved and I feel a great little sense of accomplishment.

I had a pretty jam packed week during our escape to Soho farmhouse, yet, after getting to bed at about 1am after a late dinner I still set my alarm for 5.30am for a morning swim followed by a yoga session at 8am. I felt so awake and rejuvenated (I NEED to remember to do yoga more!) In particular I find these activities are fab as they aren’t too strenuous and they really relax you and are so great for your body and flexibility! We also hopped on these amazing bikes which pop up everywhere for guests at the Farm – cycling is also such a lovely way to clear your mind and get your heart pumping and endorphins flowing!

NOURISH YOURSELF

The one thing I really took away from this trip was that, as much as I like to think that the majority of the time I have a healthy, wholesome, vegetarian diet – in actuality, it’s probably missing a lot of things! We had the most amazing nutritionist talk, followed by a beautiful breakfast and freshly pressed juices. (make sure you have a peek at my channel to catch the Vlog – this trip was filled with laughs and wonderful people!) I learnt all about the vitamins we really need in winter to help boost our immunity and general wellbeing!

I came away with a growing list of supplements I want to buy (I’m probably waaay to low on Vitamin D which is most likely, resulting in why I feel down frequently in winter) I’ve also learnt which foods are nutrient rich and what to stock up on to boost my levels! It’s made me consciously think more about not just eating healthy, but eating for what my body needs. Certain vitamins are essential for normal bodily and mental functions, which is why I want to start eating the right kind of foods for what my body is screaming out for! Having a Get more Vitamins is also an amazing way to pack some goodness into your body (whilst tasting super yum!) They’re also launching a Vitamin Gum which has changed my life haha!

THE PROS AND CONS OF BEING A BLOGGER

THE PROS AND CONS OF BEING A BLOGGER

“IT’S BEEN THE MOST INTERESTING, EXCITING AND ALSO PROBABLY ONE OF THE MOST STRESSFUL YEARS OF MY LIFE BEING A FULL TIME BLOGGER.”

Ahh the life of a blogger – something which has been firmly at the forefront of my mind recently, what with my first year of being a full time blogger surpassing recently. It’s been the most interesting, exciting and also probably the most stressful year of my life too. If you follow me over on my Youtube Channel or Insta, you’ll have seen that I’ve been working with my favourite people at Ice Watch for a while now and when they told me about their ideas for their halloween campaign I jumped right on board!

As part of their #NaughtybutnICE campaign (see what they did there 😉 ) they challenged me to style two looks based on these two watches – The white, ‘nice’ watch and the more vampy, dark, black and rose gold watch and talk about something contrasting.i Wth my career on my mind, I decided to talk about the two sides of blogging – the pros, the cons and my recent musings of Instagram VS real life and how different our expectations can really be of someone we learn to know through those little curated squares on our phones.

I’VE HAD OPPORTUNITIES & EXPERIENCES I HAD NEVER EVEN DREAMED OF

Truly, I never would have expected some of the opportunities that have been thrown my way somehow over the course of my blogging career. Never at the start of this year, had I thought I would have been on 5 trips, 3 of which were abroad – something I am ever lastingly grateful for! I’ve been whisked on luxury retreats, stayed in beautiful hotels, flown to new countries and experienced amazing cultures and food! I also had the pleasure of working with Bicester Village and getting my first Gucci and brands press days are continually getting better and better, lavishing us with champagne, fine dining and overwhelming gifts. Never did I think I’d be sat at the Lanesborough having dinner with the guys behind Manolo Blahnik and Farfetch or having breakfast with Lee Stafford. There are some huge pinch me moments ( and this is just the start!) but it’s not without it’s cons too (I know, it’s hard to believe after all of that but there really are two sides to this world)

THE PROS, PERKS & PROSECCO

I‘ve met some of my most cherished adult friends through blogging and I now know so many inspiring, motivated and creative people thanks to this blog! Whether friendships have blossomed through Twitter, Instagram or sparking conversation at events, it’s such a wonderful and supportive environment to have and even if we’re 1000 miles away I still have girls I can count on for advice, support or just to have a little moan with! I do also, get the privilege of working from where ever I choose and whenever I choose – my bed for Sunday morning editing, a coffee shop to really spark my motivation or from my cosy desk at home. This is something I definitely try and not take for granted, being someone who used to work 3 jobs at once and barely had a moment to go to the loo I understand how lucky this working lifestyle has become.

It’s a very lavish industry and almost alike celebrity culture – people want to leave a good, lasting impression of their company on you and therefore events can be extremely luxurious (and I can totally feel out of place!) Prosecco and canapés are pretty much the diet when it comes to meetings and events and having a car pick me up will never be something I become accustomed to. I also get to work with brands I’ve adore for years (ICE being an example, love the GLAM watch that inspired this pretty look!) The earning potential is also incredible and one days work could have almost equated to my old monthly salary. The most rewarding thing above anything materialistic, is the  feeling of connecting with people, helping others and inspiring them – whether that’s to buy a new pair of shoes they thought people would laugh at or making a lifestyle change. This is sometimes short-lived, as some freelancers would agree, which brings me onto the very different side of blogging.

“I FEEL LIKE I’VE MASTERED THE SKILL OF MAKING

EVERYTHING APPEAR WONDERFUL WHEN IN FACT

I’VE BEEN UNHAPPY AND STRESSED FOR WEEKS”

For me, every job isn’t without it’s cons and it’s really difficult for me to express these to people outside of the industry or to those who haven’t experienced them for themselves. I have this wonderful job and my life appears seemingly wonderful on my instagram feed (I definitely compensate for this on my insta stories haha – gal’s gotta bring some unfiltered realness to the game!) I love to discuss my struggles, worries and moan about funny little things to you guys – it’s actually what gets the best response as I guess we can all feel connected and like we relate and aren’t alone in our troubles! I thought this vampy (slightly in fitting with Halloween, minus some cat ears 😉 )  look perfectly compliments the Black GLAM watch and leads me on to the not so sparkly side of things! I love my job but I do struggle sometimes, so I think it’s only honest of me to discuss the pitfalls. A few things that get me down about blogging (twitter witch hunts aside!) is the universal killer that is comparison. One moment you’re really proud of your work and the next moment you question the whole point of what you’re doing and where you’ll be in 5 years time. It’s also pretty hard to get over the fact most people assume your job is pointless, vain and a total breeze sometimes.

Some days I get less work done than others and totally beat myself up for ‘achieving nothing’. Events, whilst super amazing can also be painfully lonely, isolating and leave me feeling left out, disregarding or just stupid. I’m a really lively, and probably at times, way too chatty person. Sometimes this goes down like a lead brick and leaves me feeling ashamed of who I am and constantly talking myself out of being so chatty. I forget peoples names and then feel like an awful human for it and financially, it can be a stark contrast of bloody wonderful and then not being able to afford any bills or grab a coffee. This has left me very unhappy and left with a feeling of not knowing what to do anymore, because when I’m waiting 2/3 months to get paid and there’s nothing I can do about that, I feel pretty useless, emabarrased and like a bit of a failure (oh, hey there pity party 😉 )

I FEEL LIKE I’VE MASTERED THE ART OF PRETENDING LIFE IS WONDERFUL WHEN REALLY, I’VE BEEN STRESSED AND UNHAPPY FOR WEEKS

Creating the illusion that life is wonderful and rainbows when I’m probably, quite unhappy inside is something I’ve unknowingly done my whole life. I don’t like to ask for help, I don’t like to cry, I don’t like to admit I’m struggling but over the last few months I’ve realised it’s okay not to be okay all of the time and it’s not a sign of weakness. The last year has really tested me but if anything it’s giving me valuable life skills and building me as a person, something which is super important growing up. Sometimes you have to go through stressful times to come out the other end better (silver linings and all that!) It’s been highs and lows I’d say, which can really confuse you as a person and leave you feeling a little numb. When things are great, I’m ecstatic and when they’re bad I’m unsure of how to pull through or what my next move should be, especially if situations are out of your hands. Being a blogger truly is the most wonderful thing but not without its pitfalls, like any other job – and I think it’s important to discuss these in order to re-evaluate how we approach things. Life and our careers aren’t always plain sailing, but if you have the passion and drive you can pull though! Appreciating the not so easy parts makes us stronger, more resilient and truly appreciate the wonderful things!

HOW I STAY PRODUCTIVE AND FOCUSSED

HOW I STAY PRODUCTIVE AND FOCUSSED

“WITH CHANGING SEASONS AND ENVIRONMENTS, OUR PRODUCTIVITY AND MOTIVATION CAN DIP – SO I’M SHARING HOW I KEEP MYSELF FEELING LIKE I CAN TAKE OVER THE WORLD, ONE BLOG POST AT A TIME!”

There’s no better feeling than writing a big old ‘to do’ list and absolutely smashing everything on it – satisfyingly ticking every task off as you go! I also love feeling like a total girl boss when I get inspired, productive and focused for my daily and weekly tasks. Whether you work in an office, at home or are out and about on your feet, it’s only natural for our productivity levels to dip occasionally. Changes in environment, emotion, wellness and seasons can all affect our motivation, sometimes without realising. Winter is my fave season (I’m a total cliche January baby and LOVE snow, boots, hot drinks and cosy knits!) but with the colder weather we can sometimes feel less motivated with darker days and colder temps.

I wrote here all about my tips on how to stay motivated, especially whilst blogging – I find if I fail to manage my time my productivity falls through the roof and I’m left feeling deflated at the end of the day! Rescue Remedy is something I’ve used for years, thanks to my sister passing one of hers down to me after her driving test – so I’m super happy and proud to be bringing you this post in collab with a brand I’ve loved for a long time! Their new Rescue Remedy Plus couldn’t have come at a better time – I felt like my change in home environment really threw me off my routine and left me feeling unfocussed and  like I wasn’t getting enough done in the day. With that, I’m sharing my tips on how I keep my self on track, pick myself up after unmotivated days and how I keep myself feeling like I can take over the world, one blog post at a time 😉

LISTS, LISTS AND MORE LISTS

I know, I know – THIS is where my inner Monica Bing from Friends comes out. (fellow lover of lists, fyi) I must admit, I used to assume that ‘list people’ must have been slight control freaks – that was until I discovered the wonder, the order and the satisfaction that comes with lists! I have them for everything – shopping, present ideas (cos’, yanno, Christmas is approaching and all 😉 ) weekly to do’s, long term goals and daily tasks. Frankly, without them I feel disorganised and unproductive – especially working from home! Taking 5 minutes at the start of the day to write a list of things that need to be done and prioritised give me a sense of purpose and accomplishment when I’ve completed them. Similarly, even if you don’t work from home, it’s often easy to forget things we want to do without writing them down! Grab a cute notebook, jot things down on your phone – whatever it takes to clear your mind and give you a clear focus on what needs to be done!

FINDING BALANCE

Whenever I used to read the personality traits of a classic Capricorn I used to laugh at how they were depicted as career driven, stubborn beings – assuming I couldn’t be further away from that, when in actuality – it’s rather spot on. I’m a workaholic, always hustling, never really taking time out for fear of missing opportunities – this has it’s pros and cons. Sometimes you need refreshing, you need perspective and you need to take time out in order to refocus. Going on walks, a run, any exercise I find does not only a great job of giving me time away, but also makes me feel energised and motivated to come back and work my bum off! (I also love to pop a few sprays of the Rescue Remedy on before a workout if I’m feeling sluggish)

If I spend too long staring at notes, editing pictures, forcing myself to write without inspiration and filming videos I lose a sense of why I enjoy it – I personally get things done so much faster when I’m inspired. So when I’m feeling a little un inspired, I take myself out of my workplace, out of that environment and into a completely different one – wander to a coffee shop, walk through the countryside, treat yourself to an afternoon shopping or bake a new healthy treat! I instantly come back revived and ready! Would love to know if this works for you guys (feel free to throw tips at me too 😉 )

 HAVE YOUR LITTLE RITUALS

I try to start my mornings with little rituals that set me up for a great rest of the day! Sometimes this might be making a morning juices/smoothie, having my hot coffee, preparing my fave breakfast or 10 minutes quiet time before I crack on with tasks or a nice hot shower to make me feel awake. If you’ve caught my Morning Routine on my channel you’ll be able to have a peek at what a usual morning looks like – for me, if I start my morning right, I feel 10x better and ready to tackle the day. I also love to pack essentials in my handbag for busy day or have some pick me ups at my desk to that mid afternoon slump! I mentioned on my insta stories that for the last few weeks I’ve been keeping my Rescue Remedy right beside my desk and instead of an afternoon caffeine fix, I pop a few squirts of the Spray bottle on my tongue (tastes like lemon cordial which is DELISH!)

I totally forgot I’d used it the first time and had a super productive afternoon shooting content for hours, wondering why I felt so energised and hadn’t got tired yet. I remembered I’d used the spray, which is packed with a combination of flower essences (love a good natural product!) as well as selected B vitamins to help support normal mental performance. It also comes in a dropper bottle, to pop into a drink – I’m definitely partial to the classic spray for a boost on the go! Lots of you said you swear by the classic Rescue Remedy, so I’d love to know if you’ve tried this one! You can grab it exclusively at boots, I honestly can’t tell you how much I love using this every afternoon!

LIFE LESSONS LEARNT FROM LONDON

LIFE LESSONS LEARNT FROM LONDON

I’VE ALWAYS LONGED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAST PACED, EXCITING, ANYTHING-IS-POSSIBLE CITY

I will forever hold a slightly, rose tinted view of London; forever choosing only to see the best, forever perhaps being a little naive. I was born close to London and moved to Devon shortly after and that’s where I’ve grown up. This upbringing made me dream of what a busy life would be like, in stark comparison to the sleepy (and OAP populated) towns I’ve lived in. I’ve always longed to experience the fast paced, exciting, anything-is-possible city and I feel like although over the last year I haven’t lived in the centre of it all, I’ve certainly experienced it well and have learnt a hell of a lot (as well as successfully being able to navigate the tube without a map or getting lost 😉 )

The people, the restaurants, the shops and the architecture all excites me and fills me with drive, happiness and motivation. It’s fast moving and dissolves your troubles instantly, reminding you to put life into perspective sometimes and focus on what actually matters. It’s filled with all sorts of wonderful souls from all walks of life (making for incredible people watching from coffee shops – yes I’m a walking cliche!) And with that, I’m sharing my life lessons learnt from London and how it’s shaping the person I’m becoming!

LET THINGS GO & PERSPECTIVE IS EVERYTHING

Whenever I come to London and then back to Devon, I not only learn to appreciate both, but also how different they really are sometimes. I’ve been in London when I’m on a complete, career driven high, but also when I’ve been feeling really down, trying to carry on as if life is dandy and be almost distastefully chirpy in meetings when really, I want to curl up into a ball and cry. This is short lived and a walk down Soho, Oxford street or Covent Garden soon reminds me that this city is full of people, full of opportunities and things can change in a second. A look around and you realise all these people are living these crazy lives, from mansions in Notting Hill to tourists flocking onto Regent Street. They each have their own stories and when ever I’m feeling down I’m reminded that there’s people worse off than myself and I’m just happy to be alive, breathing and appreciative.

PEOPLE ARE WONDERFUL (SOMETIMES ANNOYING, BUT MOSTLY WONDERFUL)

The people, oh my goodness the people are without a doubt the TOTAL HIGHLIGHT of this city! I’ve met so many incredible friends for life within the last year, sometimes when you grow up in a small town the opportunity for meeting people can be difficult past school and you can get stuck in the rut of ‘school friends’ and then your ‘work colleagues’. Being self employed means that it’s all the more difficult for me to meet new people sometimes, which is why Badoo is blooming marvellous and a godsend for my single gal pals – a place not only to safely meet new friends but also a spot of dating (you can also see who’s in your area (fab for those who don’t live in cities) and who you’ve bumped into which I think is amazing!

I’ve been in a long term relationship and when conversation between me and my friends turns to dates they’re constantly updating me on hilarious fails and dates gone wrong. I worked with Badoo last year and really admire how they’ve approached dating (because if I was single, man would I be clueless and need a little help!) They’re also the largest dating app in the world, so if that isn’t reassurance, I don’t know what is! I recommended a few of my friends download it, as I feel like it’s personally a more relaxed, friendly vibe as opposed to the fear of being Booty called like some others are notoriously renowned for! Their safety and verifying features are also super reassuring (because who hasn’t heard an online dating disaster story or two) so there’s no dodgy cat fishing going on – leaving you in a safe environment to meet similar, amazing people to yourselves! I must admit I’m a sucker for browsing through the ‘lookalikes’ feature just for a little look at who my lookalikes are (there’s also matched lookalikes for people like Jake Gyllenhaal and Ellie Goulding.. Just sayin’)

HAVE FUN, DRESS HOW YOU WANT AND DO WHAT YOU WANT

Further more on the subject of the amazing population of London, one thing I’m always mesmerised by is people watching and admiring peoples style! I love my home town but the style is seriously unvaried in comparison to cities and with London being an incredibly vibrant place, I feel a lot more confident expressing myself there! I’m a pretty laid back dresser as you’ll know and my style is pretty boring in comparison to most bloggers (okay let’s stop the self depreciation – it’s not totally boring, just basic, classic) but I still get strange looks whilst walking through a small Devon town in my everyday attire, but London has taught me to dress for myself and do what makes me happy, regardless of others judgment (more on the topic of judgement here!)

I’m forever finding myself on the tube, creating little stories of who all these people are and what they do – that bloke is DEFINITELY a writer and that woman must have a pretty awesome job to be dressed the way she is. There’s so much to be told and a story in every corner – you literally can’t help but feel the pulse of the city below your feet and feel inspired by the energy! Life is waaaay too short to live it anything else but spectacularly. Do what you love and do it unapologetically!

CREATING YOUR HAPPY SPACE

CREATING YOUR HAPPY SPACE

LET’S BE HONEST, HOW MUCH EASIER IS BEING A BLOGGER WHEN YOUR HOME IS INSTAGRAMMABLE?

I‘ve been obsessed with interiors ever since I can remember – from Ikea trips as a 10 year old to visions of a dark, purple painted, Harry Potter adorned bedroom – I’ve always loved to dream up my ideal space. The Harry Potter obsession may have been tamed since, but the love and desire to create a happy little space of my own has well and truly stuck with me. I don’t own a beautiful, huge home – hell I don’t even know where I want to live right now or in the future, but I do know that it’s super important for me to put my own stamp on my own space, wherever that may be.

I’ve really enjoyed adding more and more items into my little interior collection over the last year or so (cute homewares always make fab insta flatlay props too – always an excuse right 😉 ) However I always felt like my space was a bit bare and lacking something – apart from a few disposable camera shots in frames, I have no prints and my walls were screaming for a makeover – so I’ve teamed up with the beauts from Desenio  and chosen my fave pieces to work into my space! It’s so important for my happiness to feel comfortable and relaxed in my home, so I’m sharing how I go about creating my happy space!

ADD A TOUCH OF HUMOUR

I love a good, sassy print as much as the next blogger – who doesn’t want their walls adorned with motivational quotes and phrases to make you laugh?! In fact, if you follow me on Pinterest, you’ll know I have quite the collection of fab quotes – ready to pull out at any occasion to pick up, motivate and inspire myself! Desenio even have a print section dedicated to motivational quotes (I spent a good few hours browsing this haha!) Waking up and wandering downstairs to make myself a morning coffee and seeing these prints makes me smile and that’s definitely a damn, good way to start the day! Pictures and prints don’t have to stop in the lounge and bedroom – spread the fun all around your house – kitchen, dining room and the bathroom for a pop of happiness and style in every corner. From girl bossy quotes, life inspiration, love, life and fashion – there’s something to suit all personalities and taste (I also love how much people laugh when they see my ‘Oh Crepe print! 😉 )

STYLE RUT? PINTEREST IS YOUR BESTIE!

We all know the wonderful, soul sucking feeling that is comparison – something creators and bloggers are particularly wonderful at! Even after finishing some of your best work, it’s so easy to instantly look at someone else’s and feel like chucking the towel in and hibernating until the foreseeable future! It happens to the best of us and it’s normal to feel lacklustre about your space sometimes, especially when you’re not where you want to be or looking to move! It’s all about making the best of what you have – small room in a shared house? Use space saving techniques to de clutter and clear your mind reading for those little homely touches like prints, candles and flowers.

I have TONNES of Pinterest boards full of home inspiration for each and every room and space, this is the biggest help in the world when you’re feeling unsure of what you like or questioning how to decorate and style rooms. One browse through my boards and I’m back on track, reminded of what I love, my fave colour palettes and full of inspiration! When choosing the frames and prints I was mindful of what would work with my current colour palette, I love how the pink flower print came out and brightens a space! I’ve never seen such a beautiful and chic selection than on their website – nailing it down to the last chosen prints was pretty hard when I bookmarked about 50!

IF STYLE IS A REFLECTION OF OURSELVES, SO SHOULD BE OUR HOMES.

We dress to feel good and it speaks for us without whispering a word, so your home should also be a reflection of yourself. When I dress how I love, I feel happy and so when my house reflects me and my personality, I feel happy too! I love to buy things that show the kind of person I am – I collect books, prints, decorations and pieces that embellish a space. Desenio have really nailed their curation of products to choose from – chic, modern, beautiful and affordable (I was also really surprised by how easy the prints were to pop in the frames –  I normally suck at this!) Whether you splash 50 colours over the walls or prefer a white space with pops of print, create a little space that you feel reflects you in all of your amazingness! I genuinely feel happy every time I look around and see all of the lovely things I’ve collected over the years and the things I’ve consequently bought to compliment them – like how good does this print go with my fave, bed cushions?! Life’s too short not to enjoy your space – no matter how big or small!

DRESS YOUR SPACE TO MAKE YOU FEEL HAPPY AND MOTIVATED TO SMASH LIFE!

It’s super important to enjoy your space, but it’s also really important to inject your energy into the spaces you use most – working from home means making my desk a nice (and cute lookin!) place to work is key. I feel super motivated having a collection of nice images, quotes and decorations on my desk! It’s a nice little space and my productivity is really heightened when I work somewhere I enjoy! I forever love looking at cute desk inspo on Pinterest, it means that should I ever tire of my space, a little click through some pins and I’m instantly inspired to give it a little revamp! Browsing through the Fashion category in particular really gave me a boost of inspo, especially as theres also shots of the prints in situe to give you some further interior inspo on how to style your prints!

I’m almost, definitely, totally obsessed with this Elizabeth Taylor print – simple, minimal, classic and oh so sassy! Perfect to perk me up at that mid-day slump or when I’m feeling a little uninspired! Creating a cute desk is probably my fave thing and I regularly move bits around as to how I feel. I also love how the gorgeous lipstick print brings something a little arty to my vanity corner (that gold frame though!)  you don’t realise how bare a space really used to look once you pop a print up in it’s place! I feel like prints really speak a lot about the person who chooses them and I definitely love how these ones sum me up! (Coffee addict, lipstick hoarder who wants to take over the world from her bed!) Would love to know what your fave is!

SHOP MY INTERIOR FAVES

I hope you loved this one beauts and enjoyed having a little peek into my love of interiors! I’d love to know how you put your own stamp on your home and your fave way to decorate places to make it your happy space! Leave a little comment below and tell us your tips and ideas!

This can happen amongst the hectic-ness of the festive season but also in the height of summer, when family barbecues and drinks on the beach pry us away from our desks. This is a particular skill I have slowly come to (and am still) mastering, thanks to my blogger work life. You constantly find yourself having to dress for a multitude of occasions spanning across one day and more than often requiring no less than a suitcase! This can range from breakfast meetings leading to events at nightclubs and rooftop bars or you can find yourself having to dress for a hardcore workout session followed by a formal dinner (hiya sweat and sticky hair!)

The fact is, I’d rather not lug a heavy bag around London all day, having to keep a watchful eye on said bag in the corner of the room at every event. And so I decided to start dressing savvy and make outfits work for all occasions, come rain, shine, casual drinks or dancing on tables. Boohoo challenged me to pick a skirt and style 2 outfits around it, making holiday dressing, capsule wardrobes and general life so much easier! There’s nothing I love more than a bit of versatility and you might have seen I did a similar post in the winter here! So now we’re into summer, here’s how I’m taking my outfits from day to night this season!

STICK ON SOME SASSY SUNNIES AND CHANGE UP YOUR HAIR FOR DAY TIME CHIC

Firstly start with your base piece – the piece everything is central around – I went for this killer £16 skirt (that lace up detail though!) – I usually find it easier to keep the bottom half pieces the same – it’s easier to change your top half up! I was also majorly obsessing over these Leopard print booties so made sure they were also a focal point! You’ll know from my Instagram that I’m not the most colourful of dressers, nor do I wear a lot of print, but a bit of leopard has always caught my eye! I’m also loving how the studs and buckles toughen the look up!

My fave Ray Ban frames are always a must come day time and I whacked my hair up in a little bun to let this fringed beauty of a jumper do the talking! If this isn’t the ultimate summer festival knitwear I don’t know what is! This is also my go to hair style of the moment as it comes out in the most beautiful waves after you’ve left it in for a few hours! (more of these cheeky beauty hacks coming to my YouTube soon!) so you’ve already prepped your hairstyle come night time!

BEING ABLE TO CHANGE UP YOUR LOOK WITHOUT CARRYING A BAG THAT WEIGHS THE EQUIVALENT OF A SMALL CHILD IS ALWAYS A BONUS

For evening, I wanted to accentuate the leopard print and contrast the edgy skirt with something more delicate so spotted this gorge blouse! Embroidered blouses are everywhere this summer so I was dying to add one to my ever expanding floordrobe wardrobe. My fave way to change up my look for the day is to let my hair down (literally!) add a swipe of lippy and either change my top or chuck on a jacket!  It’s remarkable what a bit of red lipstick and some Batiste can do!

The best part was that I could still change up my look but without carrying around a bag that weighs the equivalent of a small child. My trusty cross body was suffice, simply stash with a travel perfume (nothing like a little refresh) lipstick, sunnies, a mini dry shampoo, some powder and you’re good to go! Sometimes I roll up an extra blouse and pop it in, but on this occasion I layered up and wore it underneath!
