I LOVE THE ODD, TOUCH OF LUXE, BUT I’M A BARGAIN CRAVING, AFFORDABLE LOVING GIRL THROUGH AND THROUGH

will always be an avid ambassador for all things affordable – it’s instilled within me to hunt out a bargain and oh boy, when I do – the feeling can’t be beaten! I love value for money, getting exactly what you’re looking, minus a mountainous price tag and the quiet satisfaction of saving money. My first encounter with Sleek Makeup was nipping into Superdrug after college to grab their palettes.

Face Form and the Eyebrow kit were my first (and probably still my favourite) loves – long lasting, pigmented, beautiful products that have a great finish for under a tenner? Sold. I’m obsessed with all things beauty, especially now my skin has cleared thanks to Roaccutane (Read my journey here!) So with this new found skin love, I’m having even more fun experimenting and bringing you more beauty content! I shared my first impressions and a little makeup tutorial, on some of these products over on my YouTube, which you can watch here – but for now, here’s why I bloody love a bit of Sleek Makeup!

WHY FORK OUT WHEN YOU CAN GET THE SAME RESULTS FOR LESS?

I love the odd touch of luxury, but it’s not something I buy a lot, nor could I sustainably afford (Let’s be a lil’ real around here, I’m certainly not making my millions just yet 😉 ) Some products, are indeed worth their weight in the hype and are well worth the money. Some fragrances, for example, luxe foundations and a few luxury skincare products that I’ve never found a cheaper alternative for. I’m just one of those people that won’t splurge if I don’t need to. Hell if I want something and I can afford it, it’s your money so do as you please – but what I’ve always been drawn to with beauty, is affordability and high deliverables. At College, I’d hop into Superdrug and palpitate seeing the total cost rise to a small mortgage just for a few creams and a lippy. Buying a few essentials can mount up so easily, which is why I love high street brands like Sleek, amongst a load of others, that really deliver awesome products at a fraction of the cost of their high end competitors. This is what kept me constantly coming back – products worth re-purchasing that don’t make your wallet scream.

IT’S SEEN ME THROUGH ACNE, DRY SKIN AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN

Pre-Roaccutane, my skin was a mess and it took me years to take the plunge to go onto the medication (you can watch my experience and progress pictures here!) Thankfully, it worked for me and I now have clear skin, which will hopefully stick around! I never thought I’d have the skin I do now, so I fully relish in enjoying my skincare and applying makeup! I’ve used Sleek throughout all the stages of my skin – oily and acne prone, dry and dehydrated to clear and finally – normal!

It’s never irritated, never caused me further breakouts and whatever my skins condition – it’s always got on well wth Sleek, which, besides the affordability – is another reason it has me coming back for more!

THE CULT FAVES

I’d be totally lying if I hadn’t have mentioned there were obviously a select products that were my faves and the ones I reach to on a daily basis. Face Form (I have one in fair and medium – I tend to use medium in the summer for a warmer glow!) and the Eyebrow kit (a fab dupe for a notoriously more expensive branded one!) Both these products have been constantly re-purchased over the years and I’ve yet to find something that beats them! The new, fast becoming favourites are also the Matte Lip Creams and the Vitality Foundation (THE BEST, healthy finishing and lightweight foundation!) – would LOVE to know what your favourite, high street makeup loves are, if you could only choose one!
