“They say a girl has one piece she can’t live without and
favours over the rest, and I’m definitely a shoe girl”
Every time I’ve wandered the shops recently, I can’t help but be overwhelmed (and bloody impressed) by the sheer selection and volume of INSANE designers dupes about. From Gucci Loafers to Mui Mui pearl sliders – the high street is awash with their own takes on our fave designer pieces, meaning we can all have a slice of the action, whatever your budget. Heavily inspired or just loosely designed – whatever your preference there’s a whole lot of shoe goodness going on right now and I for one, couldn’t be happier!
They say a girl has one piece she can’t live without and favours over the rest, and I’m definitely a shoe girl. Bold, classic, subtle or textured, I love them all and adore how they have the ability to transform an outfit as simple as a white tee and jeans into something completely striking. Over the past several months I’ve noticed Gucci tends to be the main contender for where the inspiration is being born (and who can blame them – Just LOOK at these! ) So I’ve began to make a list of my top, Gucci inspired picks, starting with these dreamy, slightly bad ass boots I spotted in Oxford Street the other day!
“I love Ego’s take on the Miu Miu ballet flat – comfortable, chic, girly but edgy at the same time. They definitely have to be one of my top destinations for dreamy, designer inspired shoes at such an affordable price!”
“I used to love stitching dresses together in school and
customising things, so I’m bringing some killer ‘how to’s’ to
my Youtube & blog to help you revive pieces you no longer
With embellishment surrounding us on the high street recently, from pearl adorned shoes to rhinestoned denim, it’s really inspired me to start putting my own spin on things. I used to love stitching dresses together in school and customising things, but I think that stopped when I started to earn my own money and realised I could spend it all on clothes haha! However looking at my wardrobe, there’s a few lack lustre pieces that I’ve really neglected over the years.
I’m now on a massive DIY spree, having spent a small fortune on Ebay with bits and pieces to customise shoes and clothes that have definitely been a bit forgotten about. It was actually these Gucci beauties that inspired this wardrobe, DIY overhaul and I’m now bursting with ideas for ‘how to’s’ that I’m going to bring to the blog and Youtube. I’m super excited to share these concepts with you and how easy it is to create your own, incredible dupes too! I’d love to see if you have any requests or certain idea’s you’d love to see come to life!
“From Valentino dupes to the best Gucci inspired shoes,
there’s a lot of amazingness about right now!”
Killer dupes fall into 3 categories: The more affordable, but not as reliable – by this I mean the hundreds of amazing dupes on sites such as Ebay and other super cheap websites – they look amazing but in hind site, probably won’t be very long lasting or comfortable. Then you have your mid range, high street dupes, such as Ego, Zara, Topshop and Mango, etc. Amazing prices, amazing designs and still remain some individuality too, it’s not Gucci, but its got all the best parts! You then have the slightly higher prices versions. The quality is second to none but the prices are a lot more affordable than most high end designer shoes. For these you’re looking at about £90-£100 for some seriously long lasting and beautiful shoes, such as these incredible Manolo inspired beauties
Now I have to admit, at first, the word ‘dupe’ was something that filled me with doubt – I personally like to air on the side of ‘inspired by’ in stead of – ‘direct copy’, I like subtle differences that make it look slightly different from the original. Take all the aspects you love from the designer version and try and find your perfect shoe that channels those vibes! Whether that’s looking out for pearls, studs, gold loafers or perspex heels – scour the shops and internet for what made you fall in love with the shoe! You can shop my top picks below, from Valentino dupes to the best Gucci inspired shoes, there’s a lot of amazingness about right now!
