“WHAT’S A DENIM LOVING, EFFORTLESS ADVOCATE AND SELF CONFESSED, SOMETIMES-FORGETS-TO-BRUSH-HER-HAIR KIND OF GIRL GOING TO WEAR?”
Something ticked off my bucket list recently: Experiencing The Ritz. The novelty of getting to experience incredible places thanks to this little blog I’ve been tapping away at for years will never wear off. I’ve dreamed of visiting The Ritz since forever, so to be whisked through the grand hallway and up a case of winding, fairy-tale esque stairs to The Burlington Suite was a little dream come true. But what was a denim loving, effortless chic advocate and self confessed, sometimes-forgets-to-brush-her-hair kinda girl, going to wear?
The wonderful team from Pandora invited me to experience the incredible atmosphere of one of Londons’ most prestigious hotels, all whilst enjoying an afternoon tea (best scones fyi 😉 ) and the stunning, collections that are hitting stores this year! Here’s what we got up to, a peek into the blush and ever instagrammable interiors and what this girl wore!
HAVE FUN AND FEEL GOOD
For me, dressing up is all about feeling good; whatever the occasion. A cosy day at home, brunch with your sister or wedding guest attire – always dress for yourself and to make you feel damn amazing and with a confidence to rival Beyonce’s. I favour comfort, an edge of something a little ‘un done’ and good tailoring. The Ritz, as many hotels do, does have a dress code for certain areas, and so it’s probably best to avoid sportswear and denim (even though we all know how painfully chic we can make some distressed jeans!) There went my idea of red lippy, my pink Manolo’s and some boyfriend jeans. I wanted to feel special and dressed up – it’s not every day I frequent the likes of The Ritz. Truthfully though, I do favour a more causal look – so if you’re like myself, try tailored jumpsuits, the pastel trouser suits that are everywhere at the moment or whimsical, floaty dresses. You don’t always have to wear a dress that’s Oscar Worthy – pick something you feel good in and be yourself. I always love this Jumpsuit, so I tried styling it up differently than I usually do – with a puff sleeved shirt underneath. I also took the opportunity to take my Vintage Chanels for an outing, as I felt where else more fitting do they belong than at London’s finest. I’ve linked all my outfit details below, as well as my top, Ritz picks, if you’re in need of some formal wear inspo!
MY RITZ PICKS
STAY TRUE TO YOUR STYLE
For me, there’s nothing worse than being stuck in an outfit you hate or feel uncountable in, all day long – especially if it’s a special occasion! Think back to your fave pieces – that incredible, floral dress, those black, block heels and that pink shirt. Why do you love them so much? The Feel on your body? The way they hang? I’m a TomBoy at heart, so this jumpsuit/overalls made me feel chic and dressed up, without being too girly for my tastes. I knew I’d be adorning my outfit with delicate, Pandora pieces, so I wanted these to contrast nicely to my outfit.
Choose a feature piece – something you really want to wear. For me, it was my Chanels, so I styled everything around these. If I wear heels, I quite like to contrast them with something little more masculine – the tailored overalls and slightly undone, tousled hair! I also feel like the dainty, Pandora pieces really stand out against the blue shirt – simple style that feels totally, 100% me! For a little bit of inspo, begin to save your fave OOTD’s on Instagram to folders and pin your fave looks on Pinterest – this always helps me when I’m in need of some ideas!
BEING ESCORTED THROUGH THE GRAND DOORS AND ELABORATE HALLWAYS BY THE MOST CHARMING GENTLEMAN, I FELT LIKE AN OVERWHELMED JULIA ROBERTS IN PRETTY WOMAN
I don’t think I’ve ever quite felt such an overwhelming sense of happiness, joy, history and atmosphere as I have than my visit to The Ritz. The warm conversations and clinking glasses, the delicate notes of the piano echoing through the restaurant and the quiet squeal I let out when I saw the pink, gold adorned bathrooms. I felt entirely welcome, appreciated and like an old friend. Led up the spiralled staircase and greeted upon arrival with a glass of something fizzy, we visited The Burlington Suite – of which has recently been renovated (and we were the first guests to try it out, so I felt pretty honoured!)
Playing with the boxes filled to the brim with rose gold, silver and flower adorned charms, the Pandora Spring collections are insanely beautiful – Spring, flowers and the new season always holds a special place for me, so this collection really resonated with myself. We were also (crazy luckily) gifted a stunning Pandora Moments sliding bracelet (I LOVE the delicate tie detail) as well as a beautiful Promise of Spring charm. Both of which go beautifully with my existing bracelet (which my treasured, little, sparkly shoe charm – to symbolise my blogging journey!) I couldn’t have imagined a more magical setting to experience the excitement to come from Pandora over the next few months!
